Barenaked for the Holidays
Before you get any funny ideas, we haven’t changed our format here. Rather, this is a clever title for a holiday album by The Barenaked Ladies. This CD is mucho fun. You can tell these guys are all about making music to have fun. They have a song on here about Santa’s elves going on strike, a version of “Deck the Halls” where the only words are the names of the members of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, and a sleigh ride that everyone can sing along with, even if you don’t know the words. It’s also got their version of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings” with Sarah McLachlan. As an added bonus, it’s even got a fair share of Hanukkah songs here (I’m never sure if it’s Hanukkah or Chanukkah. Oh well). So if you feel like a Kyle from South Park, this CD will light your Menorah.
