Most people my age remember Burl Ives as the snowman in Rudolph. Does his Christmas album hold up to his classic performance in that classic film? (and if you tell me you didn’t like Rudolph as a kid, I’ll tell you that you’re a gorram liar) Sadly, no. Being a “folk singer” apparently means you talk most of your songs instead of singing them. This guy would give Shatner a run for his money. And not just normal talking either, this guy’s voice would lull Edward Norton in Fight Club asleep. I had to turn off the CD just to keep from running my car off the road. Do yourself and us a favor Burl: Stick with the “Silver and Gold” of claymation.
