I thought the same thing: “A Christmas chanting monks CD?” I had to hear it. Well, it’s very disappointing. There are 25 tracks on this, and not a one that I would call a Christmas song. Where’s my chanting version of “Jingle Bells”? Or “Let it snow”? At least some of the Jesus-centric ones, such as “Joy to the World” or “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing” should be on here. No, instead we get such Christmas classics as “Facta est cum Angelo” and “Omnes de Saba”. These could very well be Christmas songs, I can’t tell you differently as I don’t know Latin. But is it too much to ask that we get some monks chanting “Feliz Navidad”?
